You can do what you like, But you should come with me. You might think it's nothing, But something's wrong with me. You can do what you want, When you're done with me. We could have started something, A future you couldn't see. Any minute now, You're gonna find out what you wanted, You're gonna find out what you wanted, to be. Any minute now, The lights are gonna turn off, The lights are gonna turn off, on me. I'm doing all that I can, To find out what I want. I don't have a direction, From what you understand. You do it all by yourself, Somehow you're better than, Who I'm going to be now, You have the upper hand. Any minute now, You're gonna find out what you wanted, You're gonna find out what you wanted, to be. Any minute now, The lights are gonna turn off, The lights are gonna turn off, on me. Any minute now! Any minute now, You're gonna find out what you wanted, You're gonna find out what you wanted, to be. Any minute now, The lights are gonna turn off, The lights are gonna turn off, on me.

Let's All Go 03:49
You're putting words into my mouth, Because I can't produce my own. You take the void and fill it up, When you know that I'm alone. I gave out my trust again, I opened up for something true, You used to dream of someone different, I had to think of somewhere new. Let's all go to the city again, I lost all my friends 'cause I'm in love with you. Let's all go to the city again, I can't understand all these things that you do. Let's all go! Let's all go! Let's all go! Let's all go! I'm putting pills into my mouth, But it's you I need the most. I was taking back control, Now it feels you're far too close. You brought together everyone, Just to show me how it's done. I used to dream of celebrations, Well, I was not the only one. Let's all go to the city again, I lost all my friends 'cause I'm in love with you. Let's all go to the city again, I can't understand all these things that you do. I see you coming back, and you're coming back for more. (Let's all go!) I see you coming back, and you're coming back for more. (Let's all go!) I see you coming back, and you're coming back for more. (Let's all go!) I see you coming back, and you're coming back for more. (Let's all go!) Let's all go to the city again, I lost all my friends 'cause I'm in love with you. Let's all go to the city again! Let's all go! Let's all go! Let's all go! Let's all go!

Guilty 04:18
Yes, I'm guilty, And I think you should know that, Because I've been thinking, About this, Far too much. Trying to adjust to a heavy load, Only took a few months and you had, One of your own. Thought you could raise him, It hasn't shown. Told him what's right or wrong, Shoved it down his throat. And I'm wondering why it's still so bad. Yes, I'm guilty, And I think you should know that, Because I've been thinking, About this, Far too much. Yes, I'm filthy, And I didn't expect that, I'd be corrupting, Everything, That I touched. So windmills are turning now, In my head, Grinding it up over Something you said. I've been so caught up in something from, A few years ago. I'm trying to reckon with something so Overblown. And I'm wondering why I feel so bad. Don't put me on the spot no more, I know what it's all been for. I'm not going to be around for much more. Would be good to see you soon, I've been trapped in this cocoon. Why don't you look for me anymore? Is it because... Is it because I... Is it because you know? You know. Yeah, you're guilty. And I think you should know that, Because I've been thinking, About this, Far too much. Yeah, you're filthy, And I didn't expect that, You'd be corrupting, Everything, That you touched. You're so guilty. You're so guilty.

Empty Room 03:25
You can go and do what you like, 'Cause there's no use in suffering. I take a good look around, And take my place in your empty room. I've got a good friend in the North, And, still, he's been struggling. He knows where he gets it from. Yeah back home, well, there's an empty room. Keeping her ear to the ground, The city was in the thrust of her hand. She took her place writing the Mail, The story will end in her empty room. You can go and do what you like, 'Cause there's no use in suffering. I take a good look around, And take my place in your empty room. Oh, your empty room. Her dad's taken to extremes, Put her down and her family. I didn't take it seriously, Until she placed me in her empty room. It's just because he's been around, Clinging on to that mountain side. A piece of metal holding you there, While we stand in your empty room. You can go and do what you like, 'Cause there's no use in suffering. I take a good look around, And take my place in your empty room. Oh, your empty room. Oh, your empty room. Oh, your empty room. Oh, your empty room.

Scattered missing pieces, I meet you one by one. It's good to know where you are, And how far you've come. Unsettled by the winds of change, I see them two by two. It's good to be together again, I was getting numb. Oh no, no, no. I started feeling welcome here. I fell back in love with routine. It's good to keep on turning the page. It's time to toe the line. Homesick Sunday feeling again. I know I'm not the only one. It's good to know your limitations son, I think you're doing fine. Oh no, no, no. Oh no, no, no. Hold them down and clip their wings. It's just like old times. But this time no one hears the screams. Oh well - at least you feel alive. I used to dream of celebrations, My friends in the sunshine. I'm still counting down to that special occasion, I put it to one side. Oh no, no, no. Oh no, no, no. I'm tired of these fragments slowly getting split up. Seems you can't be yourself without a little help.

Close the book now, And I'll begin again. I can't deal with this lie, When it feels like there's nothing left. I start to dream about the other side, Now I know what you're like. I had to take my investment away. I had to think about what I wanted to learn. I had to focus on the here and now. I couldn't do that, 'cause I don't know how. Close the book now, And I'll begin again. Close the book now, Or this will never end. Fifty things to do while your alive, I wrote down a few but there's one on my mind: Should I see you before you die? Now I know what you're like. Close the book now, And I'll begin again. Close the book now, Or this will never end. I put my hand through your projection. It was glowing in the light. It was holding yours so tight. You made me feel like it was all alright. I didn't know your history, I knew your public life. The worst people can give the best advice. Close the book now, And I'll begin again. Close the book now, Or this will never end. Close the book now. Close the book now. Close the book now, And we'll begin again.

about

Making music is my favourite thing. I recorded my first EP when I was 14 and, by the age of 20, I had done another 10 EPs or albums with my band or solo. This started out as playing some chords to a £10 mic but it soon became something a lot more intricate.

Although writing and arranging the music for new songs between 2012 and 2017, I was pining to start producing intensively again. You get to a point where when you're not doing what you most love, you don't feel yourself. Kind of symbolically, in 2016 the head snapped off my acoustic guitar I've had since I was 10, which was when that really hit home.

This EP is dedicated to the memory of the late Ron Goodman - my uncle - who, the day after my guitar broke, handed me his, Iooked me squarely in the eyes with a smile and said: “keep playing”.

Getting this EP (and chapter 2 of this lifetime musical adventure) off the ground would not have been possible without Gabi Garbutt, a huge source of energy and support, and Suzanna Petot for being an all-around amazing human being.

A further thanks to: Dan for his encouragement and lending me his vocal mic; Gideon for his advice on those crunchy guitar tones and lending me his amp; my flatmates over the last year Paula, Myrthe and Emma who have put up with hearing my songs in their various incremental stages over and over again; my friends for all their encouraging words; Effie, Helen, Michelle, Mark for head space; and Camila and Ed for letting me take over their flat to record vocals!

Enjoy, and please share it around!
